JANUARY, 2008: Picture that caveman sitting by the fire, watching his shadow dance on the wall. It dances next to a bulge in the rock that casts a shadow … a dancing shadow that looks like, wait, it is a horse! Can you see the horse running?

Look. I'll rub some charcoal so you can see it better. Here's the back haunch and the leg. You don't have to draw everything.

A shadow draws it here already. The hoof is connected only in the mind, painting only what can be seen by the imagination.
